Product demo videos made by AI agents, compared

Your coding agent can now record your app. Here is what each tool that lets it actually gives you, including where vosso falls short.

Updated October 2026

A year ago a product demo meant a person, a screen recorder and an afternoon of zooms. In 2026 an agent can drive a real browser through your app, record it and hand back a video. Several products do part of this, in different ways: some record the agent’s own testing, some are recorders an agent calls, some bring their own agent. Here they are compared on the questions that decide it. (Disclosure: vosso is our product. Every entry was checked against the product’s own pages in October 2026, and where a page says nothing we write “not documented”.)

The comparison

1. vosso: your agent, a cut you keep editing

vosso gives the agent you already code with a CLI and skills. Paste one line and it records your real app from your branch, on localhost if that is where it runs, plans the zooms from its own clicks, writes a caption per step and pushes a link that keeps every version. Behind a sign-in you log in once; keys and cards are masked before the first frame, a button that costs money is pressed only with your yes, and teardown steps undo what the walk created. Every decision is data in a document, so the agent or you can change a zoom without recording again. The catch: it records browser apps, not native desktop software, and the agent run costs your agent’s tokens (our clean-agent runs cost about $3.40). (Disclosure: vosso is our product.)

2. Clueso: a product-video platform with its own agent

Clueso runs its own computer-use agent: it connects to your GitHub, logs into the real product, runs your workflows and produces an edited video with voiceover, zooms, captions and your brand style, which you finish in its editor. Its strongest idea is release awareness: it can flag and refresh videos a product change made outdated. It is built for docs and marketing teams who want the whole video made for them rather than by their coding agent.

3. Tella Auto Capture: an agent that films for your editor

Tella’s Auto Capture, in beta, has an agent open your URL, plan a walkthrough and film it with an animated cursor, signing in with saved credentials; you can start it from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor over MCP. What comes back is a normal Tella recording, so zooms, captions and voiceover are added in Tella’s editor and shared at a Tella link. It does not reach localhost.

4. screencli, Slideshot and PageBolt: recorders an agent calls

These hand your agent a recorder. screencli takes a URL and a prompt, drives the browser and returns an MP4 or GIF with auto zoom, a background and a hosted link. Slideshot does the same over MCP and returns a polished clip. PageBolt turns steps or plain English into a narrated, captioned MP4, and its GitHub Action posts it on the pull request. All three are quick to try; what you get is the video file, so the next version is a new recording.

5. Devin and Cursor: recordings of the agent’s own work

Coding agents now test their own changes in a real browser and attach the recording to their work: Cursor’s cloud agents attach a walkthrough video to the pull request, and Devin processes its recordings with zooms, notes and chapters. These are made for a reviewer deciding whether to merge, not for your docs or your launch, and they stay inside the agent’s own product.

How to choose

Want the agent that already works on your code to make the video, from your branch, and keep changing it at one link: vosso. Want a team platform that makes the whole video and watches for outdated ones: Clueso. Already finish videos in Tella: Auto Capture. Want a file fast from a public URL: screencli, Slideshot or PageBolt. Only need proof a pull request works: the recordings Devin and Cursor already attach. Rather record it yourself? Every screen recorder with auto zoom, compared.

Frequently asked questions

Can my coding agent record a demo video of my app?

Yes. In 2026 an agent can drive a real browser through your app and record it, and several tools turn that recording into an edited video. What differs is who runs the agent, whether it works behind your sign-in, and whether you get a file or something you can keep changing.

How do I have Claude Code record a product demo?

With vosso, paste one line where Claude Code works on your app: "Read https://vos.so/agent.md, do what it says, and give me the link." It installs the vos CLI in the repo, finds your dev server, scripts the walk, records it with zooms planned from its clicks and hands you a link. Any agent that can run a terminal command can follow the same procedure.

Can an AI agent record a product that needs a login?

Some can. vosso opens a browser where you sign in once and the agent records inside that session without seeing the password, with keys masked before the first frame. Clueso and Tella sign in with credentials you give them. Check how each one stores the credential before you hand it over.

Do agent-made demo videos stay current when the product changes?

Only if the walk is kept as a script. vosso keeps the script and the cut as data, so the next release records the same script again and the cut carries over, at the same link. Clueso refreshes outdated videos from its own workflows. Tools that return only an MP4 record again from scratch.
