Record

Bring a video file

Drop a video on the studio and edit it as a take, adding zooms yourself.

Drop a video file onto /studio and it opens as a take, with the same timeline and panels a recording gets.

A file carries no cursor track, so the studio plans no zooms for it, and the Camera and Cursor pages stay off the rail. Add zooms yourself: press Zoom in the timeline toolbar, or Z, at the playhead, or drag a range on the footage and press the Zoom chip. Then aim the zoom by dragging its green rectangle on the paused canvas. See Add and delete zooms.

Everything else works as it does for a recording: the backdrop, the frame, speed and freeze, text and media layers, a soundtrack. Footage in the toolbar appends another recording or file after the last clip.
